A question and answer from Miyamoto’s interview in Famitsu…

Famitsu - When will the game head to Japan? It is planned for November 12 in the US. Japanese fans would also like to know when it will be released here.

Miyamoto: In fact, we create the game so that it can be released everywhere in the world at the same time. However… as Japanese people create the game, and as we create it in Japanese… isn’t it. (laughter).

While the translation isn’t spot on, it makes it sound like Super Mario Galaxy may hit Japan a little earlier than the US.

GS: Do you see the company moving into console or back into handheld development in the future?

JC: We continue to seek new avenues for growth in the female gaming market. With the development of the Nintendo DS and Wii – both female friendly gaming devices - there are certainly more opportunities to explore.

Well, we already know that Nancy Drew is heading to the DS. It looks like a Wii version will definitely come around as well. Did you know that the Nancy Drew game series has 16 entries, and has sold over 4 million copies total?

Making that September release was just a little too much for Izuna. She’s decided to take her time and come out on October 12th. Let’s hope that she doesn’t change her mind once again. You think an unemployed ninja would have nothing better to do!
